Everybody tells you to not judge a book by its cover, but you know you still do. A staid leather bound volume promises a different experience from one whose cover depicts a gritty city and an attractive tattoed woman wielding a samurai sword. Perhaps more tragically, a poorly designed or crude cover tells us that the story within is of similar quality–even if this isn’t true.

That said, I’ve decided to give my upcoming vampire trilogy the absolute best cover art I can. I’m working so hard on every facet of these novels that I want readers to fall in love with them at first sight. While I’m no slouch with Photoshop, and have designed all of my covers thus far, I want to take my covers to the next level. I want each of them to have a beautiful, stunning, and captivating work of art on the front that both allures potential readers and promises them that the contents are of a similar professional level.

Toward that end I approached a variety of artists and was delighted when one of my favorites agreed to work with me. His name is Bao Pham, and I absolutely encourage you to head over to his Deviant Art page and see some of his work. I’m going to paste a couple of my favorites here though for you guys to get a sense of how talented he is–I can’t wait to see how he portrays Selah’s world!
