Over at Stainless Steel Droppings, Carl has once again lovingly compiled a fantastic list of SF art – this time focusing on the work of the cutting edge artists who designed a number of key book covers for 2008. What I love about this post is how Carl encourages you to slow down, step back, and actually appreciate the talent and visions that go into SF covers today; there is some incredible work being done, and the wise reader could stand to become acquainted with these artists as well as the authors.

My personal favorite? Ekaterina Sedia’s Alchemy of Stone cover. A delicious mixture of those Lovecraft covers and Brom.
